Calling All Angels... R.I.P.# 34

I'm really not good at keeping up on this blog... I wish I was better, but I feel like with so much piled on my plate, I really don't post as much as I'd like too... It's ironic when I check my sister in laws blog daily, and find myself sad when there isn't a new posting to read... yet somehow I can't find a few spare minutes a week to update this blog...I feel it necessary today.IF anyone is even reading this, I'm sure you've already heard about the tragic loss of an Angels player. It seems so unreal. I did not know Nick personally, but personally know many people he did know. I read this quote yesterday and I found myself sitting at my desk sharing tears with many others who never had a personal contact with Nick. "How fitting that this kid, for one night, after working his way back from injury, after rising through the Angels farm system, with his dad watching in the stands, pitched the best game of his career and walked off the mound to a standing ovation from 40,000+ people at Angel Stadium. This kid, for at least one night, was king. Heaven must have needed an Angel with a good fastball and a knee-buckling curve."It must have been true... God's team needed another Angel...How reckless.. how irresponsible... and most of all how disturbing is it that the 22yr old man who ran the red light that killed Adenhart shouldn't have even been driving at all. You hear it all the time... drinking and driving is bad.. but it's not until you feel the pain of a loss until it sets in. I personally have been affected with the loss of a cousin to a drunk driver. 22 yr old Andrew Gallo was legally drunk, driving with a suspended lisence, with a prior DUI and intoxication in public both on his record. His carelessness cause our pain. His stupid decision took the life of not only an amazing ball player, but an all around good kid who had his whole life to look forward too. I hope Andrew spends the rest of his life behind a cell, never being ALLOWED to touch alcohol and paying for his recklessness. While I understand we all make mistakes, it's taking those experiences and learning from them that makes us good people. I know quite a few good people who have DUI's. Having a DUI doesn't make you a bad person... the key is LEARNING from your mistake. I don't think Andrew is a good person. First of all, he obviously learned nothing and the only remorse he is feeling is most likely pity for himself. Not only did he run a red light, hit two cars, kill 3 people, leave a 4th in critical condition fighting for his life, and a passenger in his own car... the a-hole RAN from the scene of the accident... that to me, is no man at all... but a monster. I know as a Christian we're supposed to pray for him... but my only prayer will be that he spends everyday for the rest of his life suffering for what his dumb choices have done.R.I.P. Nick Adenhart #34 ... God must have needed another Angel in heaven... God Bless the Adenhart family... my heart and prayers are with you all...
